MovieTrak ("we", "us", "our", or "the app") is a TV show and movie tracking application developed by Krystian ("the developer"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

3.1 Account Data (when you sign in)

• Watchlists, ratings, watch history, and viewing preferences
• App settings and theme preferences
• Favorite actors and dismissed show suggestions

This data is stored locally on your device using Isar database and is not transmitted to our servers unless you enable cloud sync (PRO feature).

3.3 Cloud-Synced Data (PRO users only)

If you subscribe to MovieTrak PRO, your watchlist data may be synced to Firebase Firestore for backup and cross-device access. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

3.4 User-Generated Content

• Comments — Comments you post on shows are stored in Firebase Firestore and visible to other users.
• Reports — If you report a comment, the report metadata is stored for moderation purposes.

3.5 Analytics & Diagnostics

• Firebase Analytics — We collect anonymized usage analytics (screens visited, features used, app crashes) to improve the app experience. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — We store your FCM device token to send push notifications (e.g., episode reminders). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

3.6 Advertising Data (Free tier only)

If you use the free version of MovieTrak, we use Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
• Device information and approximate location for ad targeting

On iOS, we request your consent via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before collecting the advertising identifier. You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

PRO subscribers do not see ads and no advertising data is collected.

3.7 Purchase Data

Subscription purchases are processed by RevenueCat (acting as a data processor) through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We receive a pseudonymous subscriber ID and entitlement status. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

5. Automated Decision-Making & AI

MovieTrak uses automated content moderation powered by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to review reported user comments for potential violations of our community guidelines. This system:

• Only processes comments that have been reported by other users
• Flags potentially inappropriate content for review
• May result in content removal or account warnings
• Does not make fully automated decisions with legal effects — severe actions (such as account bans) involve human review

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

7. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States, through our use of Firebase (Google Cloud) and RevenueCat. These transfers are protected by:

• EU-US Data Privacy Framework (where applicable)
• Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission

• Local data — Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Cloud-synced data — Retained until you delete your account or request data deletion.
• Comments — Retained until deleted by you or removed through moderation.
• Analytics data — Retained for up to 14 months (Firebase Analytics default).
• Account data — Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right of Access (Art. 15) — Request a copy of your personal data.
• Right to Rectification (Art. 16) — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure (Art. 17) — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"). You can delete your account directly in the app via Settings → Delete Account.
• Right to Data Portability (Art. 20) — Export your data in JSON format via Settings → Export Data.
• Right to Restrict Processing (Art. 18) — Request limitation of processing.
• Right to Object (Art. 21) — Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Right to Withdraw Consent (Art. 7(3)) — Withdraw consent at any time (e.g., for tracking, notifications).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Poland, this is the UODO (Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych) — uodo.gov.pl.

10. Children's Privacy

MovieTrak is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all network communications
• Encryption at rest for Firebase Firestore and Storage
• Secure authentication via Google and Apple Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)
• Local data stored in Isar database on your device

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
